Follow in the footsteps of the impressionists and learn to paint plein air. In this class, students will paint on location learning to capture momentary effects of light and atmosphere. Each class, meet at the art center and, weather permitting, drive to a nearby location to paint on site. Later in the season, students will use the plein air studies to complete larger, more finished works. The instructor uses demonstrations and handouts as well as individual critique to guide each student. All the basics of equipment and procedures of this challenging subject will be covered. Students may choose to work in oil, pastel, or acrylic.
