This is an expanded workshop where students learn to manipulate metal by folding, forging, chasing, rolling, bending, scoring and weaving to transform a flat surface into a three-dimensional form. Emphasis is on creating a variety of folds including: line folds, T-folds, cross folds, scored folds and woven folds. Each session emphasizes a series of folds and then opportunity is provided for students to experiment and develop new ideas. Copper is provided for these experiments, though students may wish to purchase, in advance, some 24 gauge sterling silver for their individual pursuits of pendants, earrings, salad servers, napkin rings and other ornamental objects.
