Chainmaille is an ancient art form in continuous use for centuries.
Learn this art using contemporary tools and techniques. Open to students
of all skill levels, the course is designed to take the student from
fundamentals of ring fabrication through construction of both simple
and complex patterns to produce stunning designs. Students learn
weaves from the European, Japanese, Persian, orbital, and spiral families,
plus will explore combining techniques to create unique creations.
The use of a jeweler's saw, drill and sheet metal to construct
simple clasps and embellishments will also be introduced. Supplies
for the first class are provided. Students with previous experience will
work with guidance from the instructor.
