Beginning students will learn all steps in the weaving process, including basic pattern drafting. The first project will be a scarf. This class is highly individualized and tailored to meet the needs of each class member. Advanced students may work on projects of their choice.
Sue Walton has taught various workshops instruction in weaving and surface design since 1986 and has been a weaving instructor at the BBAC since 1998. She is a member of the Michigan League of Handweavers, Michigan Weavers Guild, Creative Arts Council and the MI Surface Design. Her work has been exhibited at Destination 1111 Gallery, Grand Rapids; Berkowitz Gallery, University of Michigan, Dearborn; Ella Sharp Museum, Jackson; DuPree Gallery, Holland; Woods Gallery, Huntington Woods and Baycrafters Gallery, Bay Village, as well as at the BBAC. Sue also is an active participant in local art fairs.
